Moscow. Farid Akberov – APA. Hundreds of the Russian nationalistd - skinheads have attacked the migrants from the Caucasus and Central Asia in Moscow. APA's Moscow correspondent reports that the incident occurred in Brulyova district of the capital.
The Russian nationalists protested against the failure to detain the murderer of Igor Sherbakov who was killed on October 10 and attacked on "Biryoza" trade center where the persons from the Caucasus and Central Asia are working. As a result of it, 5 persons from the Central Asia were deadly beaten. One of them is reportedly in a critical condition.
Special purpose police units were deployed on the scene. The Russian nationalists also resisted to the police. They injured the police with stones and iron tools.
It was impossible to calm down the nationalists breaking into the trade center. They seriously damaged shops, surrounding facilities and cars. As the situation was getting tense, Moscow Main Police Office deployed a large number of OMON units on the scene.
Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev gave emergency instructions regarding the incident occurred in Brulyova district. An operation codenamed "Volcano" was held to disperse those gathered at the square in Brulyova district. 200 people were injured as a result of the incident.
The murderer of Igor Sherbakov killed on October 10 has not been found yet. It was noted that the murder was committed by a non-Slavic, Caucasian person. Hundreds of Russian nationalists protesting against the failure to find the murderer have chanted racist slogans against non-Slavonians and threatened them. Currently, it’s dangerous for non-Slavonians to walk along Brulyova Street.
At the moment one can see groups of skinheads in Brulyova Street. The police have difficulties on removing nationalists from the area.
A large number of Azerbaijanis live in Brulyova district. The biggest fruit base of Russia “Pokrov” is situated in this district. A large number of our countrymen work in that store.
Experts compare the Sherbakov’s murder with the incidents in the Manezh Square in 2010. So, thousands of people demanding investigation of the case on murder of a fan of Spartak club Yegor Siviridov in the fight with Caucasians held protest in Manezh Square. The protests have beaten non-Slavic persons, mainly Caucasians in the nearer metro stations.
Moscow police chief Anatoly Yakunin said measures for catching of Igor Sherbakov’s murderer are underway. According to him, some persons have been identified as suspected persons: “It’s known that the murderer is not a Russian citizen. Profile information of the murder is being prepared to declare him wanted”.
