APA’s correspondent reports from that the railcars with full of refrigerators caught fire at 05:00.
The fire was extinguished at 09:00. 4 railcars and more than one hundred refrigerators burnt reportedly.
The burnt railcars were taken away from the territory. Train traffic was temporarily suspended in the railway. Currently, work is underway to restore the road.
Spokesman for Azerbaijan Railway CJSC Nadir Azmammadov told APA-Economics that the freight train moving from Georgia to Kyrgyzstan caught fire in Atbulag-Alat train shed, Garadagh district: “The fire was caused by a strong wind, which threw the roofs of the railcars. At this time, the contact with electrical wires caused the fire. The composition consists of four railcars and belongs to Georgia. Investigation is underway. The Georgian side will arrive at the site and inspect the railcars. The fire was extinguished, the road is open. No one was injured.”
