Baku – APA. Ibrahim Musayev, a former employee of the liquidated Nakhchivan’s Ministry of National Security, is said to have been detained in Moscow.
In a search operation in Moscow on February 10, law enforcement agencies detained a 23-year-old man, according to the Russian Interior Ministry’s website.
He is accused of a number of acts of fraudulency in Moscow oblast.
According to initial opinion, the man won women’s trust, acting on a certain schedule.
“He claimed to a special service member and presented his Makarov pistol as a piece of evidence. He later introduced his 3-year-old daughter to the women and asked them for financial help. So he appropriated the money which he had gained through fraudulency”.
He is currently under surveillance. He had a little girl with him at the time of his detention.
The girl was sent to a medical-prophylactic center in order to be returned to her relatives.
According to the Russian interior ministry, the detainee is a citizen of one of Central Asian republics and was put on Interpol’s wanted list over charges of fraud in his country.
Though his name was not mentioned in the information, the photo shows that the detainee is Ibrahim Musayev.
Being questioned in his cell, the 23-year old boy said that he was an employee of the Azerbaijani Ministry of National Security and fled to Russia to seek political asylum. His face is not visible as he stands back to camera.
Musayev said that he was instructed to kill the wife of Turaj Zeynalov, who was accused of espionage for Iran and died at a prison of Nakhchivan Ministry of National Security, but he refused to fulfill this task.
The Nakhchivan Ministry of National Security has issued a statement saying that Musayev has nothing to do with this fact, he is swindler and deserter and Zeynalov died of cancer. In 2012, Musayev with his wife arrived in Russia and tried to obtain refugee status. But Russia’s relevant structures rejected his appeal basing on the fact that Azerbaijan has declared him wanted.
In September 2013, the Yaroslavl Regional Court ordered the extradition of Ibrahim Musayev to Azerbaijan. An appeal has been filed against the court decision.
