Drugs seized from man who smashed traffic police car with hammer in Baku

Narimanov District Police Office told APA that the criminal case was launched under article #221 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code.

The police said that drugs were seized from Shahin Beylerov when he was detained.

Beylerov was reportedly drunk when committed the crime and caused more than AZN 30,000 damage to the police car. During his initial testimony, Beylerov tried to explain his act with various reasons: “Shahin Beylerov stated various reasons contradicting each other. One of them is that he smashed the car as the traffic police officer insulted him. However, the police officer said that he had no conversation with Shahin Beylerov.”

It is not excluded that Shahin Beylerov has mental problems. This issue will be clarified after the medical examination.

Shahin Beylerov smashed BMW belonging to Baku State Traffic Police Department with a hammer near Heydar Aliyev Center yesterday at about 14:15 p.m. He caused a great damage to the police car.

Beylerov was detained.
