According to the statement, a criminal case was launched under Article 120.2.7 (deliberate murder of two or more persons) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan in connection with the discovery of the dead bodies of Janna Maharramova, 69, and her son Aleksandr Maharramov, 34, with signs of violence in their home on Jan. 19.
As a result of urgent investigative and operational actions, Baku resident, Ruhin Allahverdiyev, 39, who was previously convicted under Article 234.1 of the Criminal Code, was detained on murder suspicion.
The investigation revealed that on Jan. 17, Allahverdiyev came to the house of Janna and Aleksandr Maharramov to continue repair works as they agreed beforehand and deliberately killed them with numerous hammer blows on their heads.
Then he took AZN 20 from Janna Maharramova’s bag and purse with AZN 200 in it from Aleksandr Maharramov’s briefcase and left the house after closing the door with key.
Allahverdiyev presented the key of the house to the investigation.
The investigation is underway on the fact.
