Criminal case launched on local authority officials

Press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office told APA the Anti-Corruption Department under Prosecutor General has investigated the appeal received by the Ministry of Finance regarding the illegal actions of officials of the Neftchala Region Executive Head’s Office in Tatarmehle administrative-territorial unit.

Criminal case has been launched on the local authority officials under the article 308.1 (abuse of power) of the Criminal Code. There are grounds for suspicions that they caused AZN 534 000 damage to the state by including the names of deceased persons in 2012-2013 in the contribution lists that will be paid at the expense of the state budget, transferring money to their cards, making extra contributions without having relevant supporting documents for land plots owned or rented by citizens.

The investigation is underway on the fact.
