Baku City Mayorâ€™s Office website posts wanted notice regarding Elnur Majidli

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. Baku City Mayor’s Office has posted on its website a wanted notice regarding Elnur Majidli, who lives in Paris.

Baku resident, 30-year-old Majidli Elnur Abdulla has been wanted by Nasimi District Police Office since April 4, 2011 under the Criminal Code Article #281.1 (Public appeals to violent capture of authority, violent deduction of authority or violent change of constitutional grounds or infringement of territorial integrity of the Azerbaijan Republic, as well as distribution of materials of such contents).

This article envisages imprisonment for up to five years.

Criminal case has been launched on Majidli, who was recognized as an organizer of the protests “March 11 – Great People’s Day” and “April 2 - Great Wrath Day” on social networks. Elnur Majidli has been declared internationally wanted, because he is not in Azerbaijan now.

The Prosecutor General’s Office issued a statement in 2011 that the case on Elnur Majidli was suspended on June 2, 2011.
