Azerbaijani Interior Ministry issues statement on death of major and injury of three police officers in Gusar

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. Azerbaijani Interior Ministry has issued a statement on the incident in Gusar.

Press service of the Ministry told APA that an unknown person injured Sadir Mustafayev, who was dealing with foreign exchange, with a blunt instrument on head and robbed AZN 6000 in Gusar.

As a result of the operations carried out with “hot scents” culprit Edik Rustamov has been detained.

Employees of the Region Police Office brought the detainee to the forest outside the city to take the robbed money and there two unknown men, who were at one with Rustamov, shot at the police officers, Major Galib Guliyev died and three others were injured.

As a result of operations it was revealed that an armed attack was committed by Gusar city residents Faig Shahmuradov and Ramiz Rahimkhanov.

Currently, search operations are underway to detain the persons who fled the scene after committing a serious crime.
