Baku – APA. Azerbaijani delegation to Standing Committee of the CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly on Examining Experience in State-Building and Local Government has issued a statement, APA reports.
The statement signed by Azerbaijani MPs Arif Rahimzadeh, Fazail Aghamali and Arastun Javadov says that Azerbaijan is seriously concerned over what happened in Biryulyovo district of Moscow and detention of Azerbaijani citizen Orkhan Zeynalov who is suspected of murdering Egor Sherbakov.
Expressing their regrets, offering condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased, the MPs believe that the culprit should be punished in accordance with the law: “However, the campaign conducted by the mass media, disorder and lootings in Biryulyovo are causing serious problems. There is large Azerbaijani diaspora in Russia. They are hard-working people like Russians, taking an active part in a socio-political life of Russia and contributing to the development of the economy.”
Azerbaijani parliamentarians consider that it must not remain unanswered that the presumption of innocence is violated, suspected person is inflicted serious injuries and this is shown on the TV channels: “Government agencies and relevant bodies of the CIS should draw serious conclusions from these facts. We should protect traditional friendly relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, prevent politically illiterate people, who are acting under the influence of some forces, from undermining these relations.”
