The Federation’s press service told APA that the Azerbaijani wrestler killed in Syria is Jeyhun Bayramov, not Jeyhun Aliyev.
J. Bayramov was once a member of the Greco-Roman wrestling team. Though he won in the competitions in the republic, he did not participate in the European championship. He left the team approximately 1-2 years ago.
The federation also said that Bayramov did not wear beard when he was a member of the team.
It was known that two of the Azerbaijanis killed in recent fights in Syria were Sumgayit residents. According to the websites owned by the Azerbaijanis fighting in Syria, one of those killed is Sumgayit resident Jeyhun Bayramov. His brother-in-law was also reportedly killed in the fights.
According to the Azerbaijani fighters, Bayramov’s sister is in Syria now. She phoned and informed about the death of her husband and brother. Their bodies have not been taken.
Mujahedeen also released J. Bayramov’s photo.
