Arms smuggling from Russia to Azerbaijan prevented

The press service of the State Customs Committee told APA that “Toyota Camry” driven by Russian citizen Mamedov Hajibala Nuru was checked at Samur checkpoint of Khachmaz Customs Office. 1 undeclared 18X45 caliber “Baikal MP-461” pistol, 1 cartridge clip and 8 rubber bullets for this pistol were found inside the car. “Mercedes Benz 0403” passenger bus driven by Azerbaijani citizen Gahramanov Seyfeddin Haji was also checked at the checkpoint. 1 undeclared Taiwan-mad 4.5 caliber “GLETCHER UZM” submachine gun, 8 GLETCHER pistol were found in the baggage. 1 undeclared 4.5 mm caliber “BRT 84 GLETCHER” pistol was found in “Mercedes Benz-E320” driven by Azerbaijani citizen Gasimov Eyvaz Evez.

Hand baggage belonging to Azerbaijani citizen Heydarov Elman Saftar was checked at Samur checkpoint. 125 cartridges (12 caliber) hidden inside the sweets were found in his hand baggage.

All the facts are under investigation.
