Any provocation in National Council rally to be prevented, Baku police warn

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. Any provocation in the rally of the National Council, scheduled for Sept. 11, will be prevented, Deputy Chief of the Baku City Main Police Department, police Major General Sahlab Baghirov told APA on Sept. 9.

The Baku Mayor’s Office has authorized the National Council to hold a rally at the former “Mehsul” stadium on Sept. 11.

“The rally organizers have already been summoned to the Baku City Main Police Department and warned not to chant slogans not reflected in the appeal sent to the Baku Mayor’s Office,” Baghirov said.

Any step that may lead to unrest will be prevented and the rally organizers and perpetrators will be brought to justice, the deputy police chief warned.

The National Council will be asked to change the time of the rally, Baghirov added.

“The National Council asked the Baku Mayor’s Office for holding the rally from 17:00 to 19:00 pm. As days are shorter in autumn, we will ask the organizers to hold the rally a few hours earlier,” he said.
