Material damage from yesterday's protests and clashes in Italy amounts to between €1.1 million and €1.6 million, Italian national confederation of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises Unimpresa said on Sunday, APA reports.
According to the confederation, Milano, Bologna, Turin and Bergamo suffered the biggest losses, with the toll in Milan possibly reaching €1 million. Restaurants and retail stores suffered about three-quarters of the total damage, including property damage, lost revenue and street furniture.
The protesters list high cost of living, low wages and high gas prices as the main reasons for discontent.
