APA’s correspondent reports from Bilasuvar that about 2,000 Azerbaijani citizens have been waiting in a queue to go to Iran from this morning. Most of them are returning home or going towards Astara checkpoint.
Currently, only the Azerbaijanis returning from Iran to Azerbaijan and the Iranian citizens leaving Azerbaijan for Iran are allowed to pass the border.
Those coming from Iran said that there is also a long queue on the opposite side.
Azerbaijani citizens don’t face any impediment in returning from Iran. Trucks were banned from passing through the checkpoint. About 400 heavy trucks of Iran and Azerbaijan are waiting at Bilasuvar checkpoint.
A long queue has already occurred at Astara checkpoint. More than 200 people are waiting to pass to Iran.
