2 Sumgayit residents among 12 Azerbaijanis killed in recent battles in Syria - <span style="color: red;"> EXCLUSIVE - PHOTO

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov - APA. 2 of the Azerbaijanis killed in the recent battles in Syria are the residents of Sumgayit.

APA reports quoting the websites owned by the Azerbaijanis fighting in Syria that one of them is the resident of Sumgayit city Bayramov Jeyhun Suleyman. His brother-in-law was also killed in the battles.

Azerbaijani fighters write that Jeyhun Bayramov's sister is also in Syria. She called her relatives and said her brother and husband were killed in the battles. She said it was impossible to take their bodies.

Jeyhun Aliyev was Azerbaijani and European wrestling champion.

According to the websites owned by the Azerbaijani fighters, one of those killed in the battle is the commander of the Azerbaijani group Musab Abdurahim Abdulmajid.

25 were killed in the battle between the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and Kurdish YPG grouping in Syria on March 22.

12 of them are reportedly Azerbaijanis.
