Individuals detained abroad have been extradited to Azerbaijan, the Prosecutor General's Office stated, APA reports.
The statement notes that in accordance with the requirements of the Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family, and Criminal Matters dated 07.10.2002, the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan on the extradition of Azerbaijani citizen Vusal Mammadov Shahmali was granted by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.
Additionally, in accordance with the requirements of the European Convention on Extradition, the request for the extradition of Azerbaijani citizen Elshan Yusifov Aladdin was granted by the Prosecutor General's Office of Georgia.
Escorted by the special convoy of the Ministry of Justice Penitentiary Service, Elshan Yusifov was detained in the territory of Georgia and brought to Azerbaijan on September 17, 2024, and Vusal Mammadov was detained in the Russian Federation and brought to Azerbaijan on September 23, 2024.
