An investigation is underway at the Prosecutor General’s Office regarding the explosion that occurred on the premises of the film studio, APA reports citing the Press Service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
On June 26, around 11 p.m., a fire accompanied by an explosion was reported at the Azerbaijanfilm film studio named after Jafar Jabbarli, located at 1 Moscow Avenue, Yasamal district, Baku.
Based on the report, employees from the Department of Criminalistics and Information Technology of the Prosecutor General’s Office, together with specialists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Judicial Expertise Center of the Ministry of Justice, inspected the scene. Expert examinations were appointed to determine the cause of the incident, and urgent procedural actions were carried out.
Preliminary investigation established that the explosion and fire occurred in a storage warehouse holding pyrotechnic materials intended for creating explosion, fire, shooting, and smoke effects during film production. The one-story building housing the storage was destroyed, and windows of the studio’s administrative building and several apartments in a nearby residential building were damaged. No injuries were reported.
The investigation is ongoing at the Department of Criminalistics and Information Technology of the Prosecutor General’s Office. Further updates will be provided to the public.
