Son of Azerbaijani scientific worker arrested in Tabriz: â€œMy mother went to Iran in connection with the scientific workâ€

Khalid Mammadli, the son of scientific worker of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Literature Institute, writer Khalida Khalid arrested in Tabriz on April 30, appealed to the Foreign Ministry and Azerbaijan’s Consulate in Tabriz to clarify the detention of his mother in Iran.

Khalid Mammadli told APA that he knew about his mother’s arrest from media.
“We have been told at the Consulate that Iran has not given official information, investigation is underway. My mother left for Lankaran. It takes several hours to go to Iran from Lankaran. She left for Iran to collect materials about her scientific work. She was about to complete the scientific work,” he said.

Mammadli said Khalida Khalid talked to her family on April 30. “On April 30 she phoned me and said they were in Tabriz. She told me not to worry there were returning. After that her number could not be reached,” he said.
