Prosecutor Generalâ€™s Office: It has been fully proved that Gular Ahmadova committed a number of crimes

Spokesman for the Prosecutor General’s Office Eldar Sultanov told APA that Gular Ahmadova’s lawyer Afsar Talibov’s statements that the defendant is imprisoned without any grounds and the investigative agency is not carrying out any investigation have no legal ground.

“The investigation carried out at Baku Prosecutor’s Office has fully proved that Gular Ahmadova embezzled other person’s property abusing confidence and hid grave crime. As there are enough grounds, she has been sentenced to pre-trial detention by the court. Baku Prosecutor’s Office is continuing thorough and objective investigation,” he said.

Earlier Ahmadova’s lawyer Afsar Talibov told media that the former MP is being detained groundlessly and no investigative act is being carried out by the investigative agency. In this regard, Talibov addressed Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov, head of the Department on Work with Law Enforcement of the Azerbaijan President Administration Fuad Alasgarov, the Interior Minister, the Justice Minister, Baku City Prosecutor Aziz Seyidov, Ombudsperson Elmira Suleymanova, Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ogtay Asadov.
