Chingiz Guliyev, 61, has faced swindling charges. Azerbaijani law-enforcement bodies appealed to Interpol for his detention.
Chingiz Guliyev faced charges under article 178 (swindling) and 311 (bribery) of the Criminal Code. He committed swindling under the pretext of legal assistance. Guliyev was given money for helping release a prisoner, but did not keep his promise. He was detained after the sufferer’s complaint. Decision was passed banning him from changing residence.
Earlier this year the case of Guliyev was sent to Baku Court of Grave Crimes, but Guliyev did not attend the hearings. The court passed a decision to declare him wanted. Guliyev was not found in the territory of the republic. Investigations found out that he had fled. Interpol was appealed regarding him.
