Hilal Mammadov stands trial

APA reports that at the hearing presided by judge Azer Orujov, lawyer Khalid Bagirov made petitions to allow Hilal Mammadov to sit next to the lawyers and allow the audio and video shooting.

The petitions were not sustained. The judge said that the lawyers could approach Hilal Mammadov and consult with him. Following this, lawyer Bagirov approached him and the judge protested this situation. The judge and lawyer quarreled.

Following this, human rights activist Vidadi Isgandarli and judge Orujov also quarreled. The judge protested against Isgandarli, who was admitted to the hearing with mobile phone. Though Orujov ordered to expel the human rights activist from the hearing, Isgandarli didn’t leave.

The defence also made other petitions.

The hearing will be continued tomorrow.

He was arrested on suspicion of cooperating with the intelligence agency of Iran. 33,183 gram heroin, as well as a computer, used by him in illegal activity and the other information carriers were revealed and seized as a result of search on him and in his house with the participation of case witnesses during Mammadov’s detention.

Hilal Mammadov is faced charges under articles #274 (State betray), 283.2.2 (Excitation of national, racial or religious hostility) and 234.4.3 (Illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances) of the Criminal Code.
