APA’s Turkey bureau reports that Babayeva went to the “Medicana International” Hospital Beylikduzu, Istanbul in the morning yesterday. She died at this clinic after a few hours. The hospital confirmed Sevinj Babayeva’s death to APA. At present, the employees of the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Istanbul are at the hospital.
They said that no information on this was given to them by Istanbul police.
It was reported yesterday that Sevinj Babayeva, who was mentioned in the scandalous video released by former rector of Azerbaijan International University (ABU) Elshad Abdullayev, died.
Spokesman for the General Prosecutor’s Office Eldar Sultanov told APA that Mammadov Aykhan Eldar called Baku City Prosecutor’s Office on December 27 at 16:00 and said that Sevinj Babayeva died from disease at a hospital in Istanbul, Turkey.
Aykhan Mammadov has been prohibited to leave the country due to the investigation on the criminal case.
