Baku. Konul Kamilgizi – APA. Due to recent rainy days in Baku, activity in landslide zone in Badamdar settlement has increased, head of the National Geological Exploration Service under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Bakhtiyar Garalov told journalists.

He noted that if such weather continues, the activity will increase more: ‘Lately, ample quantity of atmospheric sediments causes obstacles to works. At present time, the zone is not useful and ready for geotechnical studies. Because, fluidity of the mass sedimentary increased as a result of the precipitation and activity intensified more. It is impossible to carry out the equipment to the site. Currently, the equipment are opening a way for drilling. But there is no condition for drilling works. Because, the area must be both stabile and dry for this process’.

Garalov noted that the main reason of landslide in this area was the runoff of domestic waters. To him, the recent researches confirmed this fact: ‘The specialists of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and Ministry of Emergency Situations carried out research works in this area. As the work is conducted in an area of 50 hectares, it need more time. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has started geological and geophysical studies here. 25 physical locations in 600 meters area have been analyzed and the studies were completed on one profile. The analysis is currently under reviewing and the results will be publicized in the near future’.

With regard to resettlement of the territory, Garalov said that this issue is out of the question: ‘People just were said not to live there. Currently there is no danger for houses located in that area’.
