Guba. Veli Turan – APA. Guba Regional Court has today passed a judgment on 9 persons arrested in Guba incidents on March 1, 2012. APA’s northern bureau reports that at the hearing presided by Etibar Guliyev, Fayizi Sakhavat Aghahuseyn was sentenced 5 years in prison, Yunusov Khayyam Sahib to 4 years and the other 7 faced 3-year suspended sentences.
The prosecutor asked the court to sentence Fayizi Sakhavat Aghahuseyn to 6 years and the other 8 to 5 years in prison.
On December 13, Guba Regional Court also passed a judgment on 8 persons charged over Guba incidents on March 1.
Abdulrahmanov Farhad Nasib was sentenced to 5 years in prison and Alasgarov Sakhavat Shakir to 4 years 3 months. The others were released from the courtroom with 3-year suspended sentences.
About 1000 Guba residents, who regarded as disrespect the words of Guba regional executive power chief Rauf Habibov at the meeting on social problems on November 22, 2011, held a protest action outside the administrative building of the executive power on March 1, 2012.
