“The investigation of the criminal case is currently ongoing in coordination with Kazakhstan's prosecution authorities,” Senior Prosecutor of the Press Service of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan Kenan Zeynalov said during a briefing, APA reports.
He noted that relevant examinations are being conducted for all scenarios: “An investigation team, led by the Deputy Prosecutor General, is already at work.”
Note that a criminal case has been initiated regarding the passenger plane crash.
A criminal case has been initiated under Articles 262.3 and 314.3 of the Criminal Code regarding the plane crash involving an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) aircraft in Aktau and the investigation has been assigned to the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
Members of the investigation team, established at the Prosecutor General's Office to investigate the criminal case, led by Deputy Prosecutor General Elmar Jamalov, have been dispatched to the Republic of Kazakhstan. Additionally, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan has sent a request for international legal assistance to the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan to ensure the execution of necessary investigative and procedural actions.
Note that an Azerbaijan Airlines aircraft performing flight J2-8243 from Baku to Grozny, an Embraer 190 airplane, crashed 3 km near the city of Aktau. There were 67 passengers and 5 crew members on board.
