Sharp deterioration of weather and snow not influenced the number of road accidents in Azerbaijan

Baku. Shahriyar Alizadeh – APA. The sharp deterioration of weather and snow has not influenced the number of the road accidents in Azerbaijan, department chief of State Traffic Police Office Kamran Aliyev told APA.

Kamran Aliyev said 16 road accidents happened in the republic on November 24.
“2 were killed, 17 injured in the accidents. A passenger died as two cars collided in Terter. A pedestrian was run over by a car in Samukh. One road accident happened in Baku, a pedestrian was injured,” he said.

Department chief said the roads are open in Kurdamir, Sabirabad, Yevlakh, Balaken regions.
“The roads are open in these regions, though it is snowing. But a part of the Baku-Guba road, Baku-Shamakhy road, Aghsu pass has been frozen. It is recommended to drive only cars with tire chains,” he said.

Kamran Aliyev said inexperienced drivers caused traffic jam in Baku yesterday.
“We ask inexperienced drivers not to drive in frosty weather. Their inexperienced driving causes traffic jam. The trucks spreading sand on the roads can not work because of the traffic jam. Speed is low on roads in such weather. Inexperienced drivers cause suspension of traffic and dangerous situation,” he said.

According to the department chief, the roads in Baku have been cleared of snow, there is no problem concerning transport vehicles.
