Azerbaijani Justice Ministry, World Bank sign new loan agreement

Press service of the Ministry told APA that the agreement was singed by Justice Minister Fikrat Mammadov and World Bank acting manager on Azerbaijan Saida Bagirli. In his speech, the Minister spoke about the work done for modernization of justice and judicial systems and infrastructures. Representative of the World Bank highly appreciated the World Bankâ€™s cooperation with the Justice Ministry, measures taken for the projects of modernization of justice system. It was said that the judicial reforms implemented in Azerbaijan are supported by the international organizations. Within the project, the projects of more than 20 new court-houses and court complexes were developed, as well as the construction of new buildings for courts of Baku city Yasamal district, Gandja city Nizami district, Gedebey region is almost completed. At the same time, the Constitutional and Supreme courts, Judicial-Legal Council, Justice Ministry were provided with modern information and communication technologies (ICT) and the single internet portal of the judicial system was established.

According to the current document, it was underlined that the construction of new court-houses and court complexes, the wide application of leading ICTs, the improvement of execution of court decisions and legal assistance system, the strengthening of potential of Justice Academy and Lawyers Board and the other measures will be taken within the joint project with the World Bank.
