According to him, the focus of both earthquakes is situated in 49-50km south-east from Baku: “But it doesn’t mean the activation of that earthquake focus. The unfelt quakes occurred in this focus before. In general we control the activity of the focus. The seismic activity in Azerbaijan is at ambient levelâ€.
4-magnitude quake hit the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea on November 15. The quake was felt in Baku in 3-magnitude. No casualties were reported. 3.4-magnitude quake was recorded today in north-west of Lankaran city of Azerbaijan at 10.03 by local time.
The quake was not felt.
6.1-magnitude quake occurred in Baku on November 25, 2000.
