Ice slick causes 7 traffic accidents on Baku-Shamakhi highway, 8 injured

APA reports that the incidents were recorded on the highwayâ€™s 85-91 km, in Gobustan region.

Passenger microbus Ford Transit driven by resident of Ismayilli region Israfilov Aslan Agamashadi, born in 1956, collided with VAZ 2104 car driven by Pirshagi settlement Aliyev Babek Shahri, born in 1979. The incident was recorded on November 9 at 11.00. Both drivers, as well as Aliyevâ€™s spouse, Aliyeva Valida Amil, born in 1984, were injured.

Two cars crashed yesterday at 11.30 on the highwayâ€™s 91st km. VAZ 2107 driven by Sumgayit city resident, Piriyev Arif Kerimkhan, born in 1972, collided with Mercedes driven by Shaki resident, Rasulov Dashgin Rasul, born in 1982. Both drivers, as well as the passengers â€“ Sumgayit resident, Shukurov Shahlar Bayram, born in 1978, and Shaki resident, Salmanova Tarana Jamal, born in 1970, were injured.

On November 9, Mercedes driven by Gazakh resident pulled off the road and turned over. A driverâ€™s spouse and daughter were injured and hospitalized. Their named are being identified.

Nobody was injured during the other 4 accidents. Traffic officers told APA that the accidents were caused by snowing and ice-slick during the blizzard.

The 85-91 km of Baku-Shamakhi highway has been closed from November 9, 20.00 till the morning today, the traffic movement was restored after 9.30.
