Landslide bedâ€™s depth rises to 68 m in Bayil hillside

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva â€“ APA. â€œThe depth of landslide bed reached 62-68 m in some areas of Bayil hillside and in some areas it is 50-60 m. The landslide moves towards the south and south-eastâ€, director of the Republican Seismological Service of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Gurban Yetirmishli told APA.

According to the research work conducted by the Seismological Service, the area, depth of bed and direction of the landslide were identified. Changes were identified in the rocks in 60-70 m of depth. The soil is clayey and humid thereâ€.

Yetirmishli said the results of research work would be submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan today. â€œThe working group will analyze the Centerâ€™s report and reports of other government agencies and prepare final proposals to prevent the landslide and its serious consequencesâ€.
