Last person beating the American journalist and British human rights defender arrested in Azerbaijan

As a result of joins operations of investigation group consisting of employees of MIA, Baku city Main Police Department and Yasamal District Police Department, resident of Babek region, Nazim Huseynov, who suspected in beating of British citizen Silvia Davies and US citizen Amanda Erickson by using physical force.

Yasamal District Police Office has received information on beating of British citizen Silvia Davies and US citizen Amanda Erickson by using physical force by 4 unknown persons in districtâ€™s Vidadi Street at about 00:20, on June 16, 2011.

A criminal case was launched under article 221.2.1 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code in Investigation Department. The damaged persons were questioned, identikits of criminals were made and a forensic medical examination was defined.

As a result of measures 3 of criminals â€“ resident of Khirdalan city. Vusal Gurbanov, born in 1986, resident of Ramana settlement, Tagizadeh Adil Huseyn, born in 1993 and resident of Nasimi district, Hasanov Roman Musa, born in 1989 were detained.

Note that, foreignersâ€™ mission in Azerbaijan was to hold trainings for civil society activists and journalists, cooperate with NGOs. Erickson cooperates with USâ€™s prestigious â€œWashington Postâ€ and â€œNew-York Timesâ€ newspapers.
