5 persons brought to criminal responsibility for attempt to hold illegal action in front of Education Ministry â€“ <font color=red>UPDATED </font>

The information says that 65 persons, who attempted to hold an illegal action in front of the Ministry of Education on May 6, broke the public order and did not obeyed the policeâ€™s legal demand, were detained. 5 of them were brought to responsibility on the Criminal Codeâ€™s articles â„– 221.1 and 221.3 (hooliganism). 38 of them were released after warning, the gathered materials of 22 of them were sent to the relevant district courts.

About 150 radical religious persons attempted to hold an unauthorized rally outside the Ministry of Education at 11.00 on May 6. Despite police warning to stop actions, which violate public order, they did not obey the demand and committed criminal actions against public safety.

Their aggressive and biased actions expressing disrespect to the society impeded the traffic for 15 minutes, damaged four cars and several public catering establishments and commercial facilities.

Ignoring policeâ€™s warning and demands, participants of the rally resisted to police officers preventing the violation of public order, 26 policemen were injured and 5 of them were hospitalized.

The urgent measures prevented the actions, which were violating the public order.

Baku Prosecutorâ€™s Office launched criminal case over the fact on articles 221.2.1 (hooliganism by a group of persons) and 221.2.2 (resisting to the government representative preventing the violation of public order) of the Criminal Code. Baku Main Police Office will conduct investigation.
