Court of Appeal doesn’t change pretrial detention on Arif Hajili

Baku. Shahriyar Alizadeh – APA. The judicial procedure on appellate appeal of head of Musavat Party’s Central Executive Office Arif Hajili, detained during the unauthorized action in Baku’s center held by Public Chamber on April 2, has been held today in Baku Court of Appeal.

The appellate appeal was related to the decision of Sabail District Court. The appeal wanted to change Hajili’s pretrial detention to house arrest.

On April 2, the Public Chamber attempted to hold rally in Baku’s centre. The criminal case has been launched concerning the incidents took place that day on the article 233 (organization of actions promoting infringement of a social order or active participation in such actions) and article 315 (resistance or application of violence concerning the representative of authority). Sabail District Court sentenced Hajili to two-month pretrial detention
