70 facts of human trafficking identified in Azerbaijan last year

He said a series of measures were conducted for prevention of human trafficking in Azerbaijan last year. A relevant Convention of the Council of Europe was adopted on February 25, 2010 and it came into force in Azerbaijan on October 1.

Imran Najafov said work on re-integration of the human trafficking victims into the society is continued. Amount of the one-time aid to the human trafficking victims was raised from AZN 33 to AZN 200. Azerbaijan and European Union held a series of workshops on this theme. Imran Najafov said housing problems of the human trafficking victims were solved and they received medical and psychological aid. 20 of them were sent to the education courses. 31 potential victims of human trafficking were identified in Azerbaijan last year and they also received relevant aid.
