ICRC representatives visit Armenian soldiers and family held in captivity in Azerbaijan

They examined their conditions and physical state and delivered the letters of relatives. ICRC representatives also promised to deliver the captivesâ€™ messages to their relatives.

There are 3 Armenian military and 5 civilian captives in Azerbaijan now.

Armenian citizens Yegishe, Ruzanna, Alfred, Gayane and Petros Gevorkyans are members of one family. They crossed the Azerbaijani border on January 2010.

Two of the captives â€“ Ohan Arutunyan and Gevorg Tovmasyan crossed into the Azerbaijani side in May 2009, Karen Arutunyan on July 2009. They expressed their desire to be sent to the 3rd country.

3 soldiers of the Armenian Army who passed voluntarily into the Azerbaijani side with the mediation of United Nations were recently sent to the third country in accordance with their desire. They are Grant Markosyan, Rafik Tevosyan, Vartan Sargsyan who passed voluntarily into the Azerbaijani side on February 2009. The country to which they were sent is not made public.
