The human rights defender told APA that they monitored the quality of the food, provision of the detainees with the medicines.
“The monitoring was normal. No shortcomings were revealed,†he said.
The human rights defender noted that after the monitoring he met with Minister of National Security Eldar Mahmudov.
“We discussed human rights and freedoms. Minister answered my questions. I asked about Haji Mammadov, former officer of Interior Ministry’s Department to Combat Organized Crimes, who is held in the detention facility of the Ministry of National Security. Eldar Mahmudov told me that some investigations concerning Haji Mammadov are still being continued. Haji Mammadov wrote a letter to Eldar Mahmudov and asked to hold him in the detention facility in order to ensure his security,†he said.
