Azerbaijan General Prosecutorâ€™s Office and Interior Ministry release information on ghastly murder committed in Sumgayit

According to information, body of unknown man was found over the night from November 10 to 12, at about 01.00, in 17th microdistrict of Sumgayit city, in front of the building #46. As a result of conducted investigations, it has been determined that the dead man was Elshad Karpat Rustamzadeh, born in 1970, living in building #55. Bodies of his father â€“ Karpat Rustamov, born in 1928, wife â€“ Ulviyye Rustamzadeh, 33, daughters â€“ Samira, 12 and Nergiz, 7 were found during investigation conducted at his apartment, at about 9.30 in the morning.

Officers of General Prosecutorâ€™s Office and Interior Ministry, as well as Sumgayit City Prosecutorâ€™s Office and Police Office were at the site of the incident.

Criminal case has been launched on the fact under articles #120.2.4 and 120.2.7 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to initial investigation, that day at about 00.15, Elshad Rustamzadeh killed his father Karpat Rustamov, wife Ulviyye and 2 children, and thereafter committed suicide by throwing himself from the roof of the building.

Investigation also revealed that Elshad Rustamzadeh was mental patient and had appealed policlinic #2 in Sumgayit city. Currently, operational search actions are underway.
