Public lawyer Vladimir Filichkin: Judge expects replacement of government in Chelyabinsk in order to pass a fair decision about Etimad Ismayilov
“Elections will be held on October 10. Fomin-Kosilov team, which planned this, may lose the power in the province once and for all. The judge is a wise man and takes this into consideration. It is easy for him to declare the judgment after the government is completely replaced in the province. Unfortunately, fair decision of the central court depends on the fact who is in power in Chelyabinsk province,†he said.
The public lawyer says the next hearing will be held tomorrow, Etimad Ismayilov has not been allowed to attend the hearing for a year.
“He is not allowed to attend the hearing. He can not put question, acquit himself, present evidence. He does not have his own lawyer, a young woman appointed by the court defends Etimad Ismayilov’s rights,†he said.
Vladimir Filichkin is a public lawyer and his job is to form a public opinion about “Podkorporasiyaâ€. The human rights defender said financial inspection had been carried out in “Podkorporasiyaâ€.
“Next week the governor of the province will be given the act that former director general of “Podkorporasiya†Shvadchenko robbed Etimad Ismayilov of 40 million rubles. It turns out that Shvadchenko and Andrey Kosilov, not Ismayilov should be judged,†he said.
The human rights defender said he asked the court two weeks ago to give an opportunity to Etimad Ismayilov to call to his mother in the presence of detention supervisors. “The court didn’t pass decision on that. They told me that they would investigate possibility of phone call under the supervision. You know how it occurs? Etimad begins to talk with his mother and then security officers cut communication. They guess that Etmiad tries to convey something secretly to his mother. In our opinion, they are doing best to accuse innocent personâ€.
Etimad’s father, chairman of the Justice Party Ilyas Ismayilov said they were not allowed to talk with their son via phone. “Etimad is innocent. Earlier they tried to press on him to admit guilty, but they couldn’t do thatâ€.
According to the Russian criminal code, Ismayilov is accused in money laundering and swindle. He is an owner of the Eurasian Industrial-Financial Group Ltd. A company controlled by Chelyabinsk Governor indebted one million dollar to Ismayilov’s company. The arbitration court issued a document confirming this fact. Ismayilov was detained on March 25, 2008 by Russian security forces at the Moscow’s Domodedovo airport on his arrival from Baku.
The related criminal case was launched in 2007. Alongside with Ismayilov, Ukrainian citizen, chief executive of the Russian grain company Vladimir Guzov, head of the broker group Abbas Jafarov and head of “Prodkorporasiya†Vladimir Svadchenko are also involved in this case.
