Vladimir Andreichenko: No obstacles for expanding Belarus-Azerbaijan cooperation

Baku – APA. Belarus and Azerbaijan have no obstacles for expanding bilateral cooperation, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said as he met with Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov on 7 October, APA reports quoting BelTA.

 

Vladimir Andreichenko pointed to the parliamentary efforts from both the sides that comprise regular bilateral visits. “We hold an exchange between the commissions which testifies to our interest in the political, economic, education and cultural cooperation,” he said.

 

According to the Speaker, Belarus is a regular observer of the presidential and parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan. “You have elections (to the parliament- BelTA's note) in 2015 and we are ready to monitor them as part of the OSCE PA, the CIS or in the bilateral format,” he said.

 

Elmar Mammadyarov stressed that there is a possibility for new joint projects in agriculture, ICT, expansion of investment cooperation, involvement of Belarusian companies in energy projects implemented in Azerbaijan. He added that concrete projects will be considered by the intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation which meeting is due in November 2014.
