Turkish Minister for EU Affairs: You can be sure that Iâ€™ll defend Azerbaijanâ€™s interests on all platforms

Answering a question “You are a diplomat and politician working in Turkey-EU relations for a long time. How do you think, will the EU again, as a few years ago, put pressure on Turkey to open borders with Armenia?”, the new minister said that all pressures have been left behind.

“No pressure can be exerted on us. Don’t forget that the EU minister is your brother. You can be sure that I’ll defend Azerbaijan’s interests on all platforms”.

In his response to APAs’ question “Armenia continues pursuing an aggressive policy though Azerbaijan’s territories are under occupation for a long time. Which steps will you take in this regard?, the minister said:

“We should change Armenia’s aggressive policy to a mean of pressure against itself. I will share my plans with you in the coming days. You can be sure that Turkey will not face any pressure furthermore, on the contrary, Turkey will be a country putting pressure”.

Volkan BozkÄ±r worked as a permanent representative of Turkey to the EU. BozkÄ±r, who was selected as Istanbul MP from the Justice and Development Party in 12 June, 2011, was a chairman of Foreign Relations Commission of Grand National Assembly of Turkey till appointment as an EU minister on August 29.
