I can say it easily, when authorities in Turkey ask me about it," said Ambassador of Turkey to Azerbaijan Ismail Alper Coskun at APATV’s “Manshet” telecast.
I.Coskun said that Azerbaijani media is always sensitive and attentive to the problems of Turkey, including the tragedy in Soma: "I have no complaints on this issue to the Azerbaijani media."
The Ambassador said that Turkey cannot make a step against Azerbaijan. “In Azerbaijan, there are different reactions to some developments in Turkey. There are questions to me if Turkey has changed its policy or not. To make a step against Azerbaijan’s interests in Turkey is not possible. I declare it here distinctly."
He noted that in connection with the events of 1915, Armenians are campaigning: "Instead of research in the archives, they try to put responsibility on Turkey via political decisions. There is not such a case in our history. We are fighting seriously in this direction and Azerbaijan gives us significant support. According to international law, there should be the court decision in order to call an event as genocide. "
“Khojaly genocide is in our hearts,” said the ambassador. “Due to the fact that there is no a court decision on Khojaly genocide, to name it genocide officially is not possible"
