Baku. Ramiz Mikayiloglu – APA. Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ismail Alper Coskun has commented on Armenia’s being invited to Turkish President-elect Recep Tayyip Erdogan's inauguration ceremony, APA reports.

Coskun told journalists that it is useful not only for Turkey’s friends, but also for everyone to see the change in nation-state integration in Turkey.

He said everyone would witness the importance of friendship with Turkey in the inauguration ceremony: “No one will benefit from having unnecessary confrontation with Turkey by distorting the history. Facing the reality and winning the friendship of Turkey will be useful to everyone.”

Saying that there was some speculative news about invitation of Armenia to the inauguration ceremony, the Ambassador noted that even the president was called on: “As an ambassador of Turkey I would like to ask that in these cases please turn back the history of Turkey before asking questions. Today’s ceremony is the inauguration ceremony of Recep Tayyip Erdogan. This is the person who visited Baku and clearly stated in the Parliament that no any steps can be taken in Turkey against Azerbaijan. Whenever Erdogan states an opinion, the Azerbaijani people also accept that it reflects the truth. I know that. Therefore, do not be concerned that any problem could come about here. But if there are ones who seek to worry groups who say to themselves “Could there be any problem between Turkey and Azerbaijan?”, then it’s another issue”.

Coskun stated that Azerbaijan and Turkey will continue to cooperate for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, even further development of the two countries, and third countries to benefit from this development: “Azerbaijani lands have been under occupation for a long period. That’s unacceptable. We’ll continue to try to convey the historical reality to the world and act together against those who claim the opposite. And each time, without feeling shy or abstaining, we’ll reiterate the value of our friendship, but that doesn’t mean any change in our position. That is why I’m asking everyone in Azerbaijan not to be worried”.
