Iranian FM: Azerbaijani presidentâ€™s official visit to Iran was successful

According to him, Azerbaijani president’s visit to Iran opened a new phase for friendship and cooperation between the two countries: “During the visit, the parties held serious discussions on agreements regarding mutual cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan in economy. Of course, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani’s work program also includes the issue of visit to Azerbaijan. Mutual visits of Iranian and Azerbaijani presidents are great efforts for the expansion of relations and reaching important agreements. Rouhani’s visit will definitely be useful for the two countries.

Afkham also noted that Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov’s visit to Iran a week after the president’s visit is of utmost importance: “It indicates that ties between the two countries are improving. These ties prove that Iran and Azerbaijan seek higher targets in order to cooperate”.
