French and Azerbaijani Presidents respond question about Leyla Yunus and Rauf Mirgadirovâ€™s cases

Baku. Ramiz Mikayiloglu – APA. French President Francois Hollande and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev responded to a question by Agence France-Presse (AFP) about Leyla Yunus and Rauf Mirgadirov’s cases.

The French President said he always raise issue of human rights during his meetings.

Hollande said that during the meeting with Ilham Aliyev they discussed a number of issues to preserve good relations.

President Ilham Aliyev stated that there is a positive situation on human rights in Azerbaijan, none is prosecuted for political views: “There is no prohibition on the Internet in Azerbaijan, 70 percent of the population has access to the Internet. Azerbaijan has chosen the path of a modern democratic development. Azerbaijan and France have multifaceted relations.”

AFP asked a question whether the presidents discussed Leyla Yunus and Rauf Mirgadirov’s cases and what a decision was made in this regard.
