Embassy of Serbia in Azerbaijan issues statement on incidents against Partizan football club

Baku – APA. Today the Embassy of Serbia in Azerbaijan has issued a statement on the fan attitude towards Partizan football club.

The Embassy’s press service told APA that the unpleasant incident occurred in the evening on August 27 during the trainings of Partizan PFC in the stadium of Neftchi PFC located in Baku caused to a surprise.

The Embassy stated that fans of Neftchi PFC sang insulting songs and threw bottles, stones and other things to the stadium. “The bus carrying the players who returned to the hotel after the trainings was subjected to stone throwing and damaged”, it said.

The Embassy also added that they expect the safety of Partizan PFC players and fans to be ensured until they leave Baku. “We hope that this incident is not deliberate, however, we would like to inform that any other attempt can disrupt the friendly relations between Serbia and Azerbaijan. Therefore, we expect the ones who broke the rules to be found and properly taken under control.

The match between the teams Neftchi and Partizan will start at 21:00 today.
