Deputy Ukrainian ambassador: â€œThe Russian leadersâ€™ visit to Sevastopol is a gross violation of Ukrainian legislationâ€

The diplomat said Crimea and Sevastopol had been illegally captured, Ukrainian laws still remain in force in these territories.

“These visits take place at the invitation of the host country. And Ukraine hasn’t sent such an invitation. Russia, which become one of the countries – liberators in the World War II, has turned out to be an invader”, he stressed.

As for the referendums held in Donetsk and Lugansk, Rustam Rustamov said the Verkhovna Rada will be informed about the referendums. He noted 10 percent of the population attended the illegal referendums financed by Russia.

The Ukrainian diplomat also said subversive groups operating in the country are instructed by the Kremlin.

“It’s no secret that Russia is thereby trying to keep natural resources under control. The first issue here is shale gas resources. Shale gas resources in Donetsk amounts to 3.5 trillion cubic meters”, he stressed.

Rustam Rustamov also added that Ukraine will continue anti-terrorist operations.
