Baku. Etibar Mammadov – APA. Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland met with some representatives of civil society and human rights defenders as a part of his visit to Azerbaijan.
Executive Secretary of REAL Movement Natig Jafarli told APA that the political situation in the country was discussed at the meeting: “The issue of political prisoners was also discussed.”
Human rights defenders Saida Gojamanli, Novella Jafaroghlu, Seadet Benenyarli, Eldar Zeynalov, Leyla Yunus, Arzu Abdullayeva, Bashir Suleymanli, Emin Huseynov and head of “El” Movement Eldar Namazov also attended the meeting.
