Baku – APA. Azerbaijani Minister of Emergency Situations Kemaleddin Heydarov has met with a delegation led by head of UN Development Programme (UNDP) Mrs. Helen Elizabeth Clark.
The minister gave H.Clark detailed information about the ministry and activities of the bodies within its structure, expressed contentment of the level of bilateral relations with relevant authorities of the UN, and stressed the importance of extensive use of opportunities for cooperation, APA reports citing the official website of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Kemaleddin Heydarov said the project “Integrating Climate Change Risks into Water and Flood Management by Vulnerable Mountainous Communities in the Greater Caucausus Region” signed between the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the UNDP is being implemented successfully. The ministry’s authorities are actively involved in the events and trainings organized by other structures of the UN.
In his turn, the guest extended his gratitude for sincere reception and active cooperation, noting that a number of significant projects on disaster risk management, prevention of emergency situations and eliminating their consequences have so far been realized. During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on joint projects implemented by the ministry and the UNDP.
After the meeting, the guests got acquainted with the operating room of the Crisis Management Centre of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
