As for the question about the possibility of signing an association agreement with the European Union, the deputy minister said: “We have said that an association agreement is unacceptable to us. We seek a higher level agreement. Negotiations in this regard are underway. The EU is still considering this issue”.

Mahmud Mammadguliyev noted that the main discussion topic of the organization is Ukraine: “However,  we think that both the Council of Europe and European Union should pay attention to other issues as well”.

Mahmud Mammadguliyev also said Azerbaijan will negotiate with the World Trade Organization in the late June and early July: “Our plan on the World Trade Organization is that we, if possible, would conduct bilateral negotiations in the late June and early July. There is a plenty of work to do by the end of the year. Perhaps, the work team will also hold a meeting and discuss many aspects of agriculture”.
