Baku – APA. Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov has met with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko as a part of official visit to this country.
According to Press service of the foreign ministry, Mammadyarov conveyed greetings of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Belarusian President.
President Lukashenko asked to convey his greetings and wishes to Azerbaijani President Ilham aliyev too.
Belarusian President expressed his satisfaction with the level of development of relations between two countries and emphasized that the countries have great potential for extension of cooperation.
They discussed the issue on holding of next intergovernmental commission’s meeting and stressed that it’s important to include issues on development bilateral relations.
Minister Mammadyarov said that Azerbaijan also highly appreciates bilateral relations, our countries share same position in the international issues and Azerbaijan takes steps to increase trade turnover.
Belarus and Azerbaijan should work harder to build up mutual trade, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov: “The trade of $300 million and even $500 million is insufficient for our countries. We would like Azerbaijan to become a manufacturing hub for many goods which can be sold across the region. We have successful cooperation on all spheres. So if anyone has questions about our close cooperation and friendship with Azerbaijan, we can say that it cannot be otherwise. Azerbaijan has always supported and helped us in difficult times. We remember it. We also do everything possible to support Azerbaijan and we will do it in future”.
The President emphasized that he has great relations with the President of Azerbaijan: “We trust each other. Our friendship makes the basis of good interstate relations.”
